Defense tracking or Space Communication applications rely on energy efficient and high precision control solutions where compactness, integration, reliability and robustness in severe conditions are critical. In order to cope with perfor-mances of Fine & Fast Pointing and Point Ahead Mechanism requirements for Defense or Space applications, CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES (CTEC) is continuously improving its Magnetic Fast Steering Mirror products (M-FSM45 and M-FSM62) [1-3], based on proprietary MICA™ flexure bearing magnetic actuators mechanism (Moving Iron Controllable Actuator), with embedded eddy current sensors (ECS) for high controllability capacity. Thanks to its heritage and many years of experience in Magnetic Fast Steering Mirror (M-FSM) technologies, CTEC has developed new versions of the M-FSM62 and M-FSM45 through several Defense and Space R&D projects. These include a Defense project focused on InfraRed Search and Track (IRST) functions embedded on aircraft, as well as the Spanish QKD GEO project (demon-stration of a Quantum Key Distribution system embarked on a geostationary satellite) and the SOLIS project (secured optical communications services relying on geostationary satellites). These new developments achieve higher perfor-mances than current products available on the market.
