Cedratec India Accelerates Growth and Expands Its Industrial Footprint
Eight years after its creation, Cedratec India Pvt. Ltd. (CTI) continues to strengthen its position as Cedrat Technologies (CTEC)’ local subsidiary, supporting customers across India with sales, technical support, engineering and industrial capabilities. Based in Bengaluru, the company is playing an increasingly strategic role in developing advanced mechatronic solutions for India’s optronic, space and high-tech industries.
Over the past year, Cedratec India has expanded its operations with a newly renovated facility, an increasing local presence and an ambitious roadmap focused on industrialization and long-term production programs. The subsidiary is also preparing to enlarge its team and further reinforce its manufacturing capabilities.
Supporting India's Major Electro-Optic Programs
Cedratec India is currently involved in several high-profile optronics’ projects in collaboration with leading Indian organisations.
Among the most significant developments are advanced CTI Fast Steering Mirror (FSM) solutions supporting next-generation Electro-Optic Systems (EOS), such as Aircraft Search and Tracking Systems, High-Power Laser (HPL), and Earth Imaging.
Generally speaking, the CTEC FSM aim at stabilizing the line of sight of EOS for improving their image quality and their field of regard performances.
These projects demonstrate CTEC & CTI’s growing expertise in precision mechatronics and its ability to support customers from engineering through industrial production.
Supporting India’s Space and Optical Communication Programs
Cedratec India is actively involved in Free Space Optical (FSO) communication projects and space missions in India. CTEC Fast Steering Mirror solutions support Optical Ground Stations (OGS), Optical Communication Terminals (OCT), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and Earth imaging systems across LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite constellations.
CTEC technologies are also deployed in space missions and instruments, including dynamic tip-tilt mirrors for LiDAR systems (e.g: EarthCARE ATLID), XYZ nanopositioning stages for precision positioning (e.g: Rosetta MIDAS), point-ahead mechanisms for deep-space optical communication systems (e.g: Psyche DSOC), and piezo motors for precise positioning (e.g:MetOp-SG instruments). These developments highlight CTEC’s broad capability in space-grade precision positioning and beam steering solutions.
Cedratec India welcomes collaboration with Indian space, defence, and photonics companies to support the development of next-generation space missions.
From Engineering to Production
Several projects have successfully transitioned from prototype development to recurring production, confirming the maturity of CTEC & CTI solutions and the confidence of Indian industrial partners.
Current activities include deliveries of Fast Steering Mirrors, precision control electronics and customized mechatronic assemblies, while additional production programs are expected to ramp up over the coming years.
Strengthening the "Make in India" Initiative
Cedratec India is actively contributing to the Make in India programme by increasing local manufacturing content and developing in-house industrial capabilities.
Recent achievements include:
These developments reinforce CTEC Technologies’ long-term commitment to local manufacturing while maintaining the group’s high standards of quality and performance.
Building Long-Term Partnerships Across India
CTI’s strategy is based on close collaboration with national research laboratories, defence integrators and industrial partners throughout the country. Its expanding network provides:
- stronger customer proximity,
- faster response to emerging projects,
- improved understanding of regional industrial requirements,
- and earlier engagement in strategic national programmes.
As India’s demand for advanced precision mechatronic systems continues to grow, Cedratec India is well positioned to support the country’s technological ambitions while strengthening the global presence of Cedrat Technologies.
