What is a FSM ?
Fast Steering Mirrors (FSMs) from CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES (CTEC) are advanced optical systems designed to rapidly and precisely redirect light or laser beams. These sophisticated devices consist of a reflective mirror mounted on a rotational structure equipped with high-precision position sensors and actuators. CTEC’s FSMs can tilt along two axes (X and Y) to adjust beam direction with exceptional accuracy. They utilize either piezoelectric or magnetic actuators, coupled with strain gauges or eddy current sensors for position feedback. CTEC’s FSMs operate in both open and closed-loop modes, with the latter employing integrated sensors for full feedback control.
