The PLA25 control electronics offer a new alternative to the LA75C electronics for controlling piezoelectric actuators. Building on 20 years of success with the LA75C, the PLA25 offers several advantages: although it is power electronics, the PLA25 is CE marked, ensuring a safe, efficient, and versatile solution for laboratory or industrial applications. More compact and easier to integrate than the LA75C, the PLA25 can be installed in a third-party cabinet or a benchtop enclosure. PLA25 modules can be combined in a master/slave topology for multi-channel or push-pull configurations. It delivers a continuous current of 2.5 A and a peak current of 5 A, with a voltage range of 170 V. This voltage, adjustable from -20 V to 150 V, is perfectly suited to CTEC piezoelectric actuators and mechanisms. Their dynamic range is fully exploited thanks to the maximum currents available with the PLA25. Its signal-to-noise ratio, superior to that of the LA75C, ensures better resolution and greater accuracy. The PLA series allows for the combination of drivers, sensor conditioners, controllers, and communication modules. The new UC controller integrates a PID regulator and various stabilization filters, including band-stop filters to mitigate problems related to resonant frequencies. It also offers a higher communication speed. Finally, and most importantly, it is more economical.
